Victoria Johnson

Biography

Whether serenely introspective or provocatively edgy, each of Victoria’s sculptures narrates a story — a tale of a journey in exploration of the feminine spirit. “All of my sculptures convey a dual sense of both strength and sensitivity coupled with sensuality. I believe these characteristics are integral parts of the feminine soul.”

Victoria grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and now resides in San Diego, California. She has travelled extensively experiencing diverse cultures and perspectives. Her work often speaks to her belief in the universality of basic human needs and struggles.

Victoria’s interest in art was fostered as a child by her grandmother, a painter who always had paints and crayons at the ready for Victoria. As a teenager she was constantly taking workshops and visiting galleries in Montreal, Toronto, New York, Mexico and Europe.
